The Ruckle family gathered twice for sad occasions in 1943. This picture was taken at the funeral of the mother of the "12" Mabel Ruckle. Later that same year Catherine (#3 in this picture) passed away near Thanksgiving time. So the family decided to get together the next year at Thanksgiving for their first reunion.
